Working at Heights and Harness Safety

Working at HeightsOne of the biggest causes of workplace accidents and fatalities, working at height is a hazardous activity in all workplaces. Work at height is work in any place, including a place at, above or below ground level, where a person could be injured if they fell from that place. Access and egress to a place of work can also be work at height.

Falls from height continue to be one of the main causes of fatalities and serious injuries in the workplace. The work at height regulations (contained within the General Application Regulations 2007) require that employers carry out risk assessments and provide employees with any necessary training to allow them to carry out work at height in safety.

Trainees will learn how to carry out risk assessments, precautions to be taken with different equipment, how to wear harnesses properly and how to record equipment checks.
